    As summer officially begins, that means plenty of things to do in and around Chicago. No plans yet? We've got you covered. 

    From pie eating contests to craft brews to live music and more, we have what you need to get the best out of your first summer weekend - for both adults and kids. 

    Rolling Stones “No Filter” Tour

    They’re doing it again and this time better than ever. The Rolling Stones are having one of their two Chicago “No Filter” concerts this weekend.

    When: June 21

    Where: Soldier Field

    Little ones need their own celebration too! Bring your kids and clap and play along with the Old Town School of Folk Music's "celebrated early childhood music program." The 45-minute performances were designed for babies up to preschoolers.

    Where: Lake Stage in Polk Bros Park

    Hours: 10 a.m.-11:45 a.m.

    Make Music Chicago

    If you play an instrument this is your time to show what you got. Join other “citizen musicians” and celebrate this global day of music. This is an open event for all ages, experience levels and styles.

    Chi-Soul Fest

    This is an "inter-generational musical conversation" fest in honor of Black Music Appreciation month.

    When: June 21-22

    Where: Beer Garden at Navy Pier

    Hours: Friday 5 p.m.-11:30 p.m. and Saturday 1 p.m.-11:30 p.m.

    Admission: Free


    Wave Wall Wax

    Come and enjoy live DJ sets as part of Navy Pier’s free live DJ series, Wave Wall Wax. This year women will be representing the female power as 50% of the DJs are women.

    Where: Wave Wall Performance Platform

    Hours: 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

    AON Summer Fireworks

    Bring the family and enjoy free fireworks and music while looking at Lake Michigan. AON fireworks take place every Wednesday and Saturday through Labor Day.

    Where:  Navy Pier

    Hours: 10:15 p.m.-10:25 p.m.

    Admission: Free


    World’s Largest Block party     

    The lineup includes Hello Weekend, 7th Heaven and 16 Candles. There will also be a bags tournament beginning at 6 p.m. each day.

    When: June 22-23

    Where: Old St. Pat’s Church campus in Chicago’s West Loop

    Hours: 5 p.m.-10:30 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m.-10:30 p.m. on Saturday

    Admission: General admission $10 and $55 for VIP passes


    Live on the Lake

    Join Live on the Lake and enjoy the “International Pier Sounds” music series with live music from bands and DJs including DJ Papa G, Gizzae, Indika and many more.

    Where: Miller Lite Beer Garden

    Hours: 2 p.m.-8 p.m.

    Admission: Free


    Country Lake Shake    

    The lineup includes Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan and more.

    Where: Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island

    Hours: 2 p.m.-11 p.m. daily

    Pride Fest   

    Enjoy live performances from artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Betty Who, Pabllo Vittar, Ultra Nate and others. Celebrate 50 years since Stonewall and the birth of the Pride movement.

    Where: Boystown, Chicago, IL

    Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily

    Admission: $10 suggested donation


    Ravenswood on Tap   

    Ravenswood on Tap returns for its third year. The outdoor festival will feature beer and spirits from local breweries, KOVAL Distillery cocktails, food trucks, live music and more.

    When: June 22-23

    Where: Ravenswood and Berteau avenues

    Hours: Saturday 12 p.m.-10 p.m.; Sunday 12 p.m.-6 p.m.

    Admission: $5 donation


    Ruido Fest       

    Ruido Fest is Chicago's only three-day Latin music festival. This year's headliners include Enanitos Verdes, Los Tigres del Norte, Malafacha, Los Gold Fires, and many more.

    Where: Union Park

    Hours: Friday 3 p.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 1 p.m.-10 p.m.

    Chicago Jerk Festival  

    If you’re in the mood for jerk food, seafood, live music and just having fun in general, this will be the place to be.

    When: June 23

    Where: Washington Park

    Hours: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

    Saturday Night Standup Comedy at Laugh Factory Chicago      

    Laugh Factory Chicago promises to have the "greatest lineup of stand up comedians in Chicago." Have a good laugh with Scott Duff, Kellye Howard, Calvin Evans and others.

    Where: 3175 N. Broadway, Chicago

    Hours: 7:15 p.m.

    Vegandale Food Drink Festival  

    Enjoy the best vegan food from vendors such as Southern Fried Vegan, Mini Drops Ice Cream, Can’t Believe it's Not Meat, Smashbowl, and many more.

    Kids Slime Workshop

    No clean-up necessary. Kids will be able to use their creativity and make slime in all the colors.

    Strawberry Fest

    Everything strawberry! There will be a carnival, pie eating contests, food and a whole lot of straberries.
