‘The Original Misfits' Reuniting for First Time in 3 Decades for Riot Fest

The Chicago festival is set to take place Sept. 16-18

The Misfits are reuniting and will perform at this year’s Riot Fest with original frontman Glenn Danzig for the first time in 33 years.

The group was the first headlining act to be revealed by the festival, with the full lineup set for release soon.

The American Horror Punk band, which formed in 1977 and is made up of Danzig, bassist Jerry Only and longtime guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, last performed together in 1983. The trio will take the stage together for what is being billed as “The Original Misfits” at both Riot Fest events in Chicago and Denver.

A drummer for the shows has not yet been revealed.

The Chicago festival is set to take place Sept. 16-18. Three-day passes are on sale at www.riotfest.org or www.ticketfly.com.
