Michelin Releases Chicago's 2016 Bib Gourmands List

Fifty-two Chicago restaurants made the 2016 Michelin Bib Gourmand list. Check out who made the cut and who got dropped from the 2015 list here.

While Michelin is set to reveal their stars for Chicago next week, the esteemed French company has released its latest Bib Gourmands list for Chicago restaurants.

The Bib Groumands list showcases "quality restaurants that have menu items that offer two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less." Fifty-two restaurants made the cut this year, including three newcomers.

Joining this year's list is The Bristol, an American cuisine staple in Bucktown that made the 2014 list but was dropped in 2015; Dos Urban Cantina, a Mexican restaurant in Humboldt Park; and late-night Korean barbecue restaurant San Soo Gab San.

Nine restaurants were dropped off of last year's list, including Matthias Merges' A10 in Hyde Park and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises' Beatrix. Dropping off the Bib Gourmand list could mean that restaurants are being considered for a coveted Michelin star rating, but Michelin doesn't share their criteria for their rankings.

The Chicago Michelin stars will be released on Nov. 2. Check out the full Bib Gourmand list below:
