The popular ZooLights display will illuminate Lincoln Park Zoo beginning Nov. 23

Already thinking of the holiday spirit? Although it feels like summer just descended upon the Windy City, Lincoln Park Zoo's highly-anticipated holiday tradition couldn't hold their horses in announcing the return of the popular ZooLights display.

The 25th annual event returns to Chicago, illuminating the zoo beginning Nov. 29, filling the space with more than 2.5 million lights and hundreds of dynamic displays, officials announced.

The free event will turn the zoo into a winter wonderland for 28 nights, featuring visits from Santa (through Dec. 23), ice sculptors (weekends), carolers (weekdays), festive activities and sweet treats, according to the zoo.

The event will run from 4:30-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights Nov. 29 – 30, Dec. 1, Dec. 6 – 8, Dec. 13 – 15, and then nightly Dec. 16 through Jan. 5 (excluding Dec. 24 and 25).
