Hot Doug's Cancels ‘Dog Dayz of Summer' Festival

Hot Doug’s has called off its annual ‘Dog Dayz of Summer’ festival.

“It is with great regret that we report that Dog Dayz of Summer 2016 will be canceled,” the event organizers wrote in a letter on their website. “Although we have received an enormous amount of support from our media partners and our operational partners and our small but enthusiastic core group of patrons, the reality is, no matter how much we want it to, this particular event has not been able to reach the goals necessary to sustain its continuation. We are extremely grateful for the support of the attendees, and we share the deep disappointment that this will cause. “

The owner of the popular hot dog shop, Doug Sohn, had teamed up with Goose Island Beer Company for another year for the 2nd annual Dog Dayz of Summer originally scheduled to be held this Friday and Saturday.

Tickets were $74.84 and included an exclusive sausage tasting pair with beer and live music. All ticket sales will be refunded “as promptly as possible,” according to the announcement.

“We encourage everyone with a Hot Doug craving to head on over to the Wrigley Field bleachers – the only place in town for the delectable Hot Doug’s sausages,” the statement said.
