Chef Katsuji Tanabe makes Chicago his part-time home after opening the popular restaurant Barrio in the city.
This weekend, Tanabe is in the city to team up with another TV alum to cook for charity.
On Sunday, he'll take the stage with fellow "Top Chef" rival John Tesar for a cooking demonstration series to benefit the Facial Pain Research Foundation.

Recipe for Roasted Chili Mango Salsa
Ingredients
2 cups of fresh or frozen mango chunks
Local
1/4 cup of peeled garlic
1/2 cup of dry Chipotle
3 large Roma tomatoes
1 cup of apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp of kosher salt
1 large white onion
Method
Preheat the oven to 350-degrees
Roast the onion,mango,garlic and tomatoes until almost charred/close to be burnt (yes burnt is good) in the oven
Then transfer everything to a pot and cook for 25-minutes at medium flame
Then blend and add salt to liking
To keep chilled, keep the salsa in the fridge. It will last around 15 days.
