Rahm Leaving White House “Very Soon,” Says Quigley

There's another hint that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel will make a run for mayor of Chicago.

Emanuel met with his 5th District successor, Rep. Mike Quigley, at the Washington Hotel in the nation's capital on Wednesday to talk policy.  The discussion is said to have focused on Quigley's interest in Tax Increment Financing and how TIF money might be used for schools and other city expenses.

"He left the impression he's running," said Quigley, adding that he believes the departure would be "very soon."

Sources close to Emanuel said earlier in the day that it's "very possible" the White House Chief of Staff would leave his post next month for a campaign.

Quigley is also weighing whether or not to join the mayoral sweepstakes, but said he wouldn't be making a decision until after the November elections.
