Head of GOP Campaign Committee to Help Walsh

A top Republican who heads the party's fundraising arm will be in the Chicago area next month for a campaign breakfast to benefit Rep. Joe Walsh.

Texas Rep. Pete Sessions will take part in a fundraising breakfast in Elmhurst on May 3, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday. Parts of the area are in Illinois' new 8th Congressional District.

Walsh, a freshman congressman, faces Democrat Tammy Walsh in the November General Election. She's expected to get fundraising help from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Sessions heads the Republican Congressional Campaign Committee, and tickets to the breakfast will range from $50 to $80 a couple. VIP tickets are far more pricey, at $500 per person or $750 for two, the Tribune reported, citing information from the Walsh campaign.

"This will probably be the most high-profile Congressional race in the country," Walsh said late last month, just days after the Illinois Primary Election.
