Rahm Challengers File Appeal

Election lawyer Burt Odelson said Wednesday that he's started the process in the Illinois Appellate Court to try to knock mayoral candidate Rahm Emanuel off the ballot.

"We filed a motion to expedite.  We will file our brief on Monday," he said.

Cook County Circuit Judge Mark Ballard on Tuesday upheld an earlier 3-0 ruling by the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners that Emanuel, despite having lived in Washington, D.C. for the past two years to serve as President Obama’s chief of staff, is eligible to run.
