Rahm, Jesse Jr to be Called in Blago Trial: Report

Rod Blagojevich's defense team may call Mayor Rahm Emanuel and U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. as witnesses in the former governor's trial as early as Wednesday, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.

Both have remained under subpoena since Blagojevich's trial last year.

The Chicago Sun-Times, citing sources, said the defense's current plans include calling both sitting politicians.

Emanuel spokeswoman Tarrah Cooper confirmed that the mayor "may" be called.

"We've been notified he may be called to testify," she said, but could not say if the testimony would be given Wednesday or Thursday.
