Toni Preckwinkle Mixes Up Her Daleys

Who could blame Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle getting her Daleys all messed up

Who could blame Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle getting her Daleys all messed up.

There are so many of them in Chicago politics.

During a board meeting Wednesday, Preckwinkle received word that a motion intended to create legislation that would make it easier to let go of the county medical examiner was tabled and sent to committee.

The man who asked that it be sent to committee: Cook County Commissioner John Daley.

But Preckwinkle didn't refer to commissioner Daley when she announced the maneuver.

Instead she credited it to Mayor Daley, John's brother, and the former head of Chicago.

The Board erupted with laughter after the gaffe.

Preckwinkle carried on, if perhaps a little embarrased.

Daley, for his part, was thrilled with the slip up.

"It's been a good week," he said.
