The Race: Republican Party Candidate for the 13th Congressional District.
The Competition: David M. Gill
The Buzz: Davis was formerly a staff member for U.S. Rep. John Shimkus and is executive director of the Illinois Republican Party.
Davis supports a decrease in taxes for individuals and businesses as well as government regulation of business. He also believes in a decrease in federal spending and the repeal of the 2010 health care reform law, stating that it should be replaced with a market-based approach.
His platform is said to very closely mirror GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
