Congressional Colleague Visits Jesse Jackson Jr.

Another familiar face from Capitol Hill paid a visit to Jesse Jackson Jr. at the Mayo Clinic:  Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich.

Kucinich did not come empty handed to his visit either. The Ohio Democrat brought a giant "Get Well" card signed by their colleagues in Congress.

"Visited w/ Rep. Jackson Fri, Sat @ Mayo. Photo w/ Cong. get well card. Kind words of colleagues clearly meant a lot. http://bit.ly/Pyy3sd," Kucinich tweeted from his Congressional account on Monday morning.

The tweet included a picture of the two talking in front of two giant posters with the U.S. House of Representatives seal and "Get Well Soon Jesse!" on them. Signatures and get well wishes from congressmen filled the spaces in between.

Jackson Jr. is being treated for bipolar disorder at the Mayo Clinic, and has been on medical leave since June 10.

Last week, Former Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy visited with Jackson Jr. to offer support. Kennedy has talked openly about his own battles bipolar disorder and received treatment at Mayo. He retired from Congress last year.

It is unclear whether Jackson Jr. will follow the same suit. He is currently on the ballot as an incumbent for the November elections.

Two weeks ago Jackson's wife said her husband was "getting better." At the same time, his congressional staff was telling district officials that he would be back on the job "soon."
