“Real” Joe Walsh On Why He Supports Duckworth

Rock guitarist Joe Walsh of The Eagles -- who insists he's the real Joe Walsh because he was famous four decades before the Illinois congressman -- sent out an e-mail Thursday from the address joe@tammyduckworth.com, explaining why he's supporting Tammy Duckworth in her run for Congress against the fake Joe Walsh.

Joe Walsh here (the musician) and I'm reaching out today to tell you that I'm proud to back a real American success story - Tammy Duckworth. I'm tired of all the dysfunction and bickering in Congress and I think it's time for a change. We need reasonable people working together to solve the problems that working families care about. I'm confident that Tammy can give those working families a voice.

So I'm proud to be taking the stage at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg on July 1st. I hope you can join me.

My family moved to Evanston when I was 3 years old and we spent 6 years there. It's where I first started to learn to play music. Since then, my American Dream has come true. The least I can do now is support someone who served our nation with honor and is committed to keeping the American Dream alive.

Thanks for joining me in supporting Tammy. I'll see you at the show.

Joe

Well, Joe Walsh and Joe Walsh do have one thing in common. The congressman also lived in Evanston, until he lost his condo to foreclosure in 2009.
