Rahm Emanuel's Long NATO Weekend

Mayor Rahm Emanuel is in for a predictably long weekend as NATO diplomats continue flying into O'Hare Airport for the weekend's summit.

The mayor was spotted first thing Saturday morning at the Young Atlanticist Summit at Hotel Sax, where NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen discussed NATO's agenda and future priorities.

Emanuel also is expected to meet with the prime minister of the Netherlands at an evening reception, according to an outline of events sent to NBC Chicago for planning purposes by the mayor's office. His office noted the events were subject to change, but at first count, Emanuel had 15 major events planned for the weekend.

On Sunday he has separate meetings with the prime minister of the United Kingdom and foreign minister of the Federal Republic of Germany. He'll sit in on a Joffrey Ballet performance and attend a NATO leaders dinner and delegation reception later on.

Meetings won't stop until Tuesday, the day after the summit wraps up at McCormick Place. He'll meet with the presidents of Poland and Turkey that day.

And we assume he'll see off former boss, President Barack Obama Monday night.

All in a NATO Summit weekend's work.
