Rahm Emanuel on “Meet the Press” Sunday

This ought to be good.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will appear on Meet the Press, Sunday, Live from Chicago after a long gap. It's the first appearance for Emanuel since January 2009, when host David Gregory peppered him with uncomfortable political questions about his alleged involvement in the Rod Blagojevich Senate seat scandal.

On Sunday, the weekly political show is broadcasting from the Museum of Conteporary Art to kick off the start of Ideas Week, a first-ever celebration of innovation in the city of broad shoulders. It's the first live broadcast of the show from Chicago in more than 15 years.

Emanuel will also participate in a Mega Talk on Monday with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Thomas L. Friedman from the New York Times and Richard Stengel, Managing Editor of TIME Magazine.

Other guests on Meet the Press include: Rep. Luis Guitierrez (D-Ill) Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Ill) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.)

Emanuel will talk about his transition from White House Chief of Staff to Mayor of one of the country’s biggest cities. What advice would he give to President Obama ahead of the 2012 election? What solutions does he see at the federal and local level for improving the economy and creating jobs?
