Gov. Pat Quinn says as soon as he heard about the $85K per year Canoe Czar job he called "the director in plain language and told him its not happening."
The reason: money, honey. Quinn, responding to reporters after launching IDOT's multi-year highway improvement plan, says the state's budget shortfall leaves no room for a waterway chief.
As for Scott Lee Cohen possibly joining the gov race as independent?
Quinn says "whatever he wants to do" is fine with him.
