The Buzz: Paula A. Basta, born in Cleveland, Ohio, moved to Chicago in 1978 and has since worked directly with seniors, families, the disabled, and the LGBT community. She has done social work in organizations such as the Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly and St. clements Parish in Chicago. In addition, she is a member of the Chicago Task Force on LGBT Aging, Cook County State's Attorney's LGBT Advisory Council, and TPAN (Test Positive Aware Network). In 2009, she was inducted into the Mayor's Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame.
