Obamas to Stump for Gov. Pat Quinn

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will be making campaign stops in Illinois next month

Gov. Pat Quinn will be getting some help from the White House in his gubernatorial campaign against Republican Bruce Rauner.

NBC 5 has confirmed that President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will be making stops in Illinois next month to help the Quinn campaign.

The dates and locations for the visit have not been determined.

Polls showed Rauner with a large lead a couple of months ago, but Quinn has been creeping closer. A poll released Sunday by We Ask America has Rauner leading Quinn 44-41 among 1,400-plus likely voters surveyed Sept. 18-19. Nine percent of poll-takers said they were undecided; 6 percent backed Libertarian candidate Chad Grimm. The margin of error was 3 percent.
