The Buzz: McAuliffe has served as the 20th district's state representative since his election in 1996. He formerly worked as a legislative aide for his late father, State Representative Roger P. McAuliffe.
McAuliffe is the chairman of the Veterans' Affairs Committee and is also a member of the Transportation Committee, Appropriations-Public Safety, Financial Institutions and Registration and Regulation Committees.
