The Buzz: Noland formerly served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman with the 4th Marine Division and Great Lakes Naval Hospital. He is a licensed attorney and worked as a public defender at the Kane County Public Defender's Office and currently practices at a private firm in his town of Elgin. Noland was elected senator representing the 22nd district in 2007.

Noland co-sponsored Senate Bill 1961 which prohibited elected officials from placing their names on taxpayer funded signs and electronic messaging. He is working on a bill that would increase transparency and place limits on campaign contributions.

He serves as the vice-chairperson of the Revenue Committee and is assigned to Housing Appropriations III, Housing and Community Affairs, Judiciary Civil Law and is a sub-chairperson on the subcommittee Community Affairs.
