Madigan Under “Fire” at RNC

The opening of the Republican National Convention may have been postponed, but that did not stop the state GOP from releasing their latest message that will heat things up for House Speaker Michael Madigan.

On Monday, the Illinois Republican Delegation debuted "FIRE MADIGAN," a primary part of its 2012 political messaging now available on t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, golf balls and more, according to the delegation's website.

"The Illinois Republican Party is selling these items at cost through CafePress.com to keep the costs at low as possible so that as many people as possible can help spread the word that Illinois needs to FIRE MADIGAN," the website stated.

It's not the first time the state GOP publicly expressed their discontent with Madigan. During Republican Day at the Illinois State Fair, several showed up with "FIRE MADIGAN" signs.

Madigan is up for re-election in the 22nd District, a seat he's held since 1971. With 41 years under his belt, there's no doubt it will take a huge movement to unseat him.
