The Buzz: Lance Tyson is an attorney at his own firm, The Tyson Law Group, LLC. He formerly worked on the legislative counsel for former Mayor Richard Daley and served as chief of staff to the president of the Cook County Board.
Tyson's platform includes funding for education, cutting state spending, charity care, public safety and job creation. Tyson was chosen as a challenger for competitor Derrick Smith after Smith was indicted for allegedly accepting a bribe.
