The Buzz: Judy Biggert, who began her legislative career in 1992, was first elected to Congress in 1998 and has been voted by her peers as one of the ten most bi-partisan Republican members of the House. She has led the Congressional Women's Caucus in areas such as domestic violence, and has worked to provide greater educational opportunities for homeless children. The President put her Energy Tech Transfer Act into law, which helped individuals and businesses reduce their energy usage. In addition, she has worked as a legal clerk in the Honorable Luther M. Swyger, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
