Joe Walsh Slams FBI Director Over Clinton Email Announcement

Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh slammed FBI director James Comey’s decision to alert Congress to the unexpected discovery of e-mails potentially related to its investigation of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server.

Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh slammed FBI director James Comey’s decision to alert Congress to the unexpected discovery of e-mails potentially related to its investigation of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server.

"U may hate me, but I'll always say what I believe," Walsh tweeted Sunday night. “I want Trump to win, but what Comey just did to Hillary Is wrong & really unfair to her."

On Friday, Comey revealed that e-mails on disgraced former congressman Anthony Weiner’s laptop were linked to his estranged wife, top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. According to reports, the FBI obtained a warrant to search e-mails related to the Clinton server probe Sunday.

The bureau already had a warrant to search Weiner’s laptop, but that only applied to evidence of his alleged illicit communication with an underage girl.

“Hillary is corrupt as hell, but the FBI Dir has no right to mess with an election,” Walsh tweeted Sunday night. “He goes public cuz of emails no one has seen? Just wrong.”

The Justice Department reportedly discouraged Comey from writing a letter to Congress about the development, given the proximity to the presidential election and the potential for political fallout. Walsh has repeatedly called for answers from Comey.

"You can't come out 11 days before an election & say: 'On 2nd thought, I think I'll retry her for murder, but I won't tell you why,'" Walsh tweeted Sunday night. "Huh?"

“If the FBI Dir is going to open his mouth 11 days b4 an election, he better have a damn good reason & he better tell us what it is,” he tweeted Monday. “Waiting.”

Along with Comey, Walsh also condemned voter fraud and Russian hacking Monday, tweeting, “Nobody should mess with something as sacred as the vote.”

Last week, the former congressman caught flack for encouraging supporters to take up arms if Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump loses the election.

“On November 8th, I’m for for Trump,” he said. “On November 9th, if Trump loses, I’m grabbing my musket.”

“You in,” he asked his nearly 80,000 followers.

Walsh, who hosts a syndicated radio show on AM-560, later told NBC5 that the tweet was tongue-in-cheek.

“We’re talking about a musket,” he said. “I could’ve said grab your slingshot and let’s go. Metaphorically, I meant grab your muskets, if Trump loses, man, we’re going to do what we have to do. We’re going to protest and boycott and practice civil disobedience. We may start a third party.”

Walsh referenced that tweet early Monday morning.

“And even tho I think Comey is out of line, I still have my musket,” Walsh tweeted. “It will be ready November 9th. No matter who wins.”

“#GrabYourMusket,” he added.
