Jennifer Hudson used her award-winning pipes to help Rahm Emanuel raise some cash for his campaign.
Her performance Monday night at Chicago's House of Blues was the first fundraiser for Emanuel's campaign that allows cameras inside.
The sold out $30 to $500 event was expected to bring in up to $100,000 for the campaign.
Just how did Hudson get hooked up with Emanuel?
Ben Labolt, spokesman for Emanuel says "she offered to help out" after Emanuel met Hudson at a White House event last year.
Former White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers organized the event.
