Emanuel's Residency Case Continues

Rahm Emanuel's residency challenge moves along to another level of litigation this afternoon.

The Illinois Appellate Court will listen to an appeal of a circuit court desicion that upheld a Cook County Board of Elections desicion to allow Emanuel on the ballot.

Burt Odelson, the lawyer for who's pushing the case through the courts for  two Chicago voters who object to Emanuel being on the Feb. 22 ballot, pledged to take the case all the way to the state Supreme Court if necessary.

Odelson says Emanuel shouldn't be allowed on the ballot because he doesn't meet a one-year residency requirement to run to replace the retiring Mayor Richard Daley.
