Durbin Offers Tepid Support for Quinn

Sen. Dick Durbin will be on the Illinois ballot this year as he runs for re-election, but he doesn't have glowing things to say about the man at the top of the Democratic ballot  -- Governor Pat Quinn.

Durbin says while he and Quinn “support one another”  he adds “if we’re going to be successful with voters of the state, you have to have a record of performance,  you have to produce.”

 “Voters expect performance,” he said.

Quinn has been consistently stymied in his efforts to solve the state's pension crisis.

Earlier in the week Attorney General Lisa Madigan, who is also running for re-election said she would “support the Democratic nominee for governor.”

Madigan never mentioned Quinn’s name and when pressed that her words were not a ringing endorsement for the incumbent she replied “I do plan on supporting the Democratic ticket.”

Currently, Quinn has no Democratic challengers.
