The Buzz: McSweeney is a conservative Republican who formerly served on the Finance Committee for former U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald and was also precinct captain in Barrington, Palatine and Schaumburg townships. McSweeney worked as an investment banker, financial consultant and investment specialist and believes his experience with business will aid him in his political career.
McSweeney opposes same sex-marriage, stem cell research, abortion and illegal immigration.
