The Buzz: Davis has spent over three decades in public office. He was the Alderman for the 29th Ward from 1979 to 1990 before serving as Cook County Commissioner in the first district from 1990 to 1996. He was then elected in to the 7th Congressional District in 1996 and has served in that position ever since.
