Speaking at the Greek Independence Day Event Wednesday evening, Mayor Richard Daley gave Democratic Senate Candidate Alexi Giannoulias glowing remarks.
Daley spoke of Giannoulias' parents' Greek roots and tells the crowd "you should be very proud and excited."
The senate candidate stood steps away as Daley -- who was very animated in his remarks -- alluded to the controversies facing Giannoulias' family's troubled Broadway Bank.
"He answered all of the questions asked about him and everything else," Daley said. "Now he's presenting his Democratic credentials."
