Councilwoman Picked to Replace Ex-Rep. Farnham

Democratic Party officials have selected a suburban Chicago councilwoman to replace a state representative who resigned earlier this month.

The Daily Herald reports that Anna Moeller was selected Saturday to replace Keith Farnham in the 43rd House District.

Farnham resigned citing health reasons. The Elgin Democrat quit after agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized computers from his home and offices in a search for child pornography.

Moeller is on Elgin's city council. The council's website says she also serves as executive director of the McHenry County Council of Governments. She's expected to take the oath of office Sunday at an Elgin restaurant.

The 43rd District includes Elgin as well as portions of Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, East Dundee and South Elgin.
