Chico, Braun Fight to Force Run-Off

Former schools president Gery Chico and former U.S. Sen. Carol Moseley Braun are trying to force a runoff in the Chicago mayor's race.

Chico and Braun are relying on some big names Sunday to win over voters before the Feb. 22 election. Chico was scheduled to rally with Democratic U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez and Braun was expected to attend a get-out-the-vote rally with Princeton University professor Cornel West, author of the book "Race Matters.''

A recent Chicago Tribune poll shows Chico and Braun battling for second place far behind former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.

The poll shows Emanuel with 49 percent support.

If nobody gets 50 percent of the vote plus one vote on Election Day, then the top two vote-getters advance to an April runoff.
