The Competition: Michael Noland
The Buzz: Collins is a licensed attorney who began his career working at the University of Illinois as a supervisor at the Office of Business Affairs. He then went on to become a shareholder in Hill, Van Santen, Steadman & Simpson before leaving to begin his own practice, Law Offices of Cary J. Collins, P.C.
He currently is on the Legal Counsel of the Illinois Public Pension Advisory Committee and a trustee for the Village of Hoffman Estates. In Hoffman Estates, Collins worked to build new facilities and improve business in the area.
Collins stated that he is not looking to seek money from lobbyists and aims to keep his campaign costs below $100,000. He seeks to improve the business climate in Illinois by creating jobs and improving employment levels.
