Mayoral hopeful Carol Moseley Braun is responding to reports that a coalition of African-American politicians and community leaders has chosen Danny Davis as its consensus candidate for the city's top job.
"We will learn who the real consensus candidate is on election day," Moseley MosBraun said in a release criticizing the choice.
Moseley Braun said the group had difficulty in making its choice, and had initially voted to support her and another candidate. But the group reconsidered, and voted instead to back "a third candidate," according to her release.
So far, Ward Room has been unable to confirm if the Black caucus had, in fact, voted to support Moseley Braun.
