If you want to know how millionaire financier Bruce Rauner will spend his money during his vanity campaign for governor, here’s one answer: by becoming your Facebook friend.
In the last week or so, I’ve begun noticing “sponsored posts” by Rauner popping up in my news feed. He’s also a permanent fixture in the ads on the right side of the page. Click on the link, and you’re taken to a page for the Bruce Rauner Exploratory Committee, with the motto “Think It’s Time For An Outsider to Take on the Insiders? We Can’t Change Illinois By Ourselves.” There’s also this bio of Bruce:

Will this be an effective campaign tool? Or will it irritate Facebook users who don’t like seeing their pages turned into a scrolling billboard?
