The Buzz: Brad Harriman, the previous Regional Superintendent for St. Clair County from 2006 to 2011, has experience with teaching, coaching, and serving at-risk youth in Belleville area public and Catholic schools. After graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, he went on to sign professional football contracts with the Atlanta Falcons in 1977 and then with the Buffalo Bills in 1978 on the NFL, before beginning a teaching career in 1978.
Harriman is in favor of ending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and protecting programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. As an educator, he also understands the importance of higher education being made affordable to everyone.
