The Buzz: Annazette R. Collins has been representing the 5th district since 2011, previously serving in the Illinois House of Representatives representing the 10th district from 2001 to 2011. She has also previously served in many social services and criminal justice agencies, such as being an Administrator for the Chicago Board of Education and a Correctional Officer with the Bureau of Prisons. Collins hopes to improve education, expand access to health care, raise the age of majority for juveniles and reform the juvenile justice system. In an aside, Collins told the Chicago Tribune that she loved to cook and watch old movies.
