It may be a bit early to start thinking about races post-marathon, but it’s never too early to snag a deal.
Groupon has several deals for area races in the next few weeks, so snag them while they’re hot!
- Saturday, October 19 is the Chicago Men's Health Urbanathalon, where single competitors and relay teams start at Soldier Field and run through over ten miles of obstacles along the lakefront. The race ends with an after-party featuring local food trucks, music, and drinks, and the cost with the Groupon is $75 for individuals, $140 for a three-person relay team.
- Next is the Running Scared 5K on Saturday, October 26, at Shamrock Farm Park in McHenry, Illinois. This costumed charity event organized by the McHenry Police Department is in its second year and all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Entry fee is $25 for individuals, $35 for couples with the Groupon.
- The Dawn of the Dunes Marathon, Half, and 5k is on Sunday, October 27, at Marquette Park Pavillion in Gary, Indiana. A Boston Qualifier and featuring a kids' fun run, this course winds along Lake Michigan. With the Groupon, entry fees are $30 for one half marathon, $30 for two 5K participants, and $62.50 for one full marathon.
- On that same day, October 27, the Glenview Giving Foundation is holding the Zombie Run for the Heart 5K in Glenview, with both zombie and human racers trying to survive the zombie hoard. The race ends with a fire pit, food, and live music, and admission prices with the Groupon are $19 for one participant, $38 for two.
