“Hung” Star's Next Role: Miley Cyrus's Dad

The problem with playing a male prostitute on a great HBO show? Every other gig after that is perfectly set up for an instant attention-grabbing headline.

Thus is the fate of the excellent Thomas Jane, the star who plays a Detroit high school teacher/male escort in "Hung." No matter how great he is on the show, the male prostitute jokes are going to color every other mention.

So we're just going straight on this. His next gig will be playing Miley Cyrus's father in the film "LOL," according to the Hollywood Reporter. (Cue: tongue biting).

The report states that "Twilight" regular Ashley Greene has also joined the cast as a high school bad girl. Dr. Cullen isn't going to be happy, but that girl is actually made to play bad. Bring on the Mean Girl!

The remake of the French comedy also stars Demi Moore as Miley's divorced mother.  And naturally, the best-behaved wild child we have on the scene, Miley Cyrus, will test her acting chops.

If she should falter, the cool confidence that is Jane will pick her up in all of there scenes. So we're safe for approximately 20 minutes of this film. Like Greg Kinnear in "The Last Song," producers seem to go for the right type to play Miley's dad, at least. Here's hoping we can move up from there.

According to THR, the story centers on a teenage girl (Cyrus) who is dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend while her divorcee mother (Moore) struggles to move on with her life.
