Tim Robbins to Play Bad Dad in “Green Lantern”

With shooting for "Green Lantern" set to begin in March, Tim Robbins has hopped aboard, joining a cast that already includes Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Peter Sarsgaard.

Robbins will play Sen. Hammond, the disapproving father of Sarsgaard's Henry Hammond, who develops super powers after discovering a chunk of a powerful radioactive meteor, according to Heat Vision.

Reynolds is playing the title role and Blake Lively is his love interest -- natch -- Carol Ferris, with Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale") directing the shoot in New Orleans.

Robbins' last foray into comic book adaptations was the grossly misunderstood "Howard the Duck."

The movie is set for release on June 17, 2011.
