Former Bulls Reserve Ronnie Brewer Signs With Rockets

The former member of the 'Bench Mob' signed a two-year, non-guaranteed deal with Houston

When in Chicago, Ronnie Brewer was a member of the famed “Bench Mob.” In two seasons with the Bulls, Brewer helped the team achieve the best record in the NBA in consecutive seasons and averaged 6.2 and 6.9 points respectively in his Chicago campaigns.

On Monday, it was reported that Brewer would be reuniting with another former Bench Mob member, Omer Asik, as the seven-year veteran agreed to a partially guaranteed two-year deal with the Houston Rockets.

After the Bulls dismantled the team last summer following the Derrick Rose injury, Brewer landed in New York to play for the Knicks. He appeared in 46 games (starting 34) for New York before being shipped to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a second-round pick at the trade deadline.

The Rockets now have 18 players on their 2013-14 roster, including Dwight Howard whom Houston snatched away from the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency this summer.
