Carlos Boozer: ‘We Love Luol'

The Chicago Bulls power forward expressed sadness at his teammate being traded

Luol Deng being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers came as a shock to many. But no one was more shocked than his Chicago Bulls teammates.

“We all were very surprised,” said Carlos Boozer to the Chicago Tribune after the Bulls shootaround at the United Center on Tuesday morning. “Obviously, we know that it’s a move to give the team more flexibility, but on a personal level, we love Luol.”

Taj Gibson was reported as being “pissed” and Joakim Noah refused to talk to the media, although he did take to Twitter to post this message: “Thanks for the great times Lu. Learned so much from you over the years. Appreciate u big bro.”

Boozer said that Deng’s presence was missed at shootaround as he spoke in a relatively somber tone.

“Our team, our community, we miss Luol a lot. Obviously, we wish him the best, but as a brother, we miss him. We’ve had a tough season, to say the least. It’s still very early, but it’s been very difficult for our guys.”
