Hinostroza, Gustafsson Named to AHL All-Star Game

The NHL has yet to announce their All-Star rosters yet, but we do know the Chicago Blackhawks’ organization will be well-represented in the AHL’s edition of the game.

The four rosters for the AHL’s All-Star Classic were announced on Thursday, and the Blackhawks had two prospects named to the game.

Winger Vincent Hinostroza, who is currently playing with the Blackhawks, was named to the Central Division team, as he scored nine goals and dished out 13 assists in 23 games this season for the Rockford IceHogs. If he’s still with the Blackhawks when the game is played, he will be replaced on the team.

Defenseman Erik Gustafsson also made the team, thanks to his three goals and 11 assists in 22 games with the IceHogs this season.

Former Blackhawks forward, and current Chicago Wolves center, Brandon Pirri was named to the Central team. Pirri has 12 goals and 15 assists with the Wolves this season, and he is their lone representative on the initial roster.

The Skills Competition will take place on Jan. 28, with the All-Star Game taking place on Jan. 29. The game will feature a three-on-three round-robin tournament, with six games of 10 minutes each. The two teams with the best record at the end of the tournament will compete in a six minute championship game.
