Blackhawks Fans: Check Your TV Before Tonight's Home Opener

Do you have DISH or Sling? You won't be able to see tonight's Blackhawks game

Check your TVs, sports fans.

If you have DISH or Sling, you won't be able to watch Thursday night's Blackhawks home opener. That’s because the providers have dropped NBC Sports Chicago.

It also means you won't be able to see any Blackhawks, Bulls or White Sox games.

What to do?

If you want to watch your home teams, call 1-844-700-NBCS and request that your distributor bring the station back. Otherwise, you’ll have to switch providers.

"NBC Sports Chicago first contacted DISH/Sling months ago with a good faith effort to reach an agreement," NBC Sports said in a statement. "Unfortunately, DISH refused to engage until just days before the channel carriage agreement expired, and they made unreasonable demands before they took Chicago sports away from fans. We still hope to reach an agreement, and will continue to fight on behalf of the teams and their fans. While DISH brags that they don’t expect to be in the regional sports business, we are happy that more than 50 other partners have agreed to carry the network. We urge fans to call DISH at 1-844-700-NBCS or go to www.mysportschicago.com.”

NBC Sports Chicago is partially owned by NBC Universal, which owns WMAQ.
