Chicago Blackhawks

Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane Continue Remarkable Streak in Win

The duo has now scored in the same game on 87 different occasions

For the second game in a row, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane scored for the Chicago Blackhawks, and they kept alive one of the more intriguing streaks in team history.

Toews, who scored a hat trick in Saturday’s game, and Kane, who registered three points in the win over the St. Louis Blues, have now scored in the same game on 87 occasions in regular season play, according to NBC Sports Chicago’s Christopher Kamka.

In those games, the Blackhawks have a staggering 77-6-4 record, and have won their last 44 games in which both of their stars have lit the lamp.

That streak dates back all the way to the 2013-14 season, according to Kamka. The last time Chicago lost a game in which both players scored came on Oct. 24 of that season, when they fell in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Toews and Kane have scored in the same playoff game on six occasions, and the team has won all six of those contests.

The duo will try to continue their remarkable run on Sunday night when they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at the United Center.

h/t, as always, to Christopher Kamka, who is a must-follow on social media.
