It may not feel like hockey season outside, but the Chicago Blackhawks will begin their preparations for the 2019-20 season this week as training camp opens.
The Blackhawks, who have missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, will be looking to rebound with a strong campaign this year as Jeremy Colliton embarks on his first full season behind the bench.
The coach will have plenty of new players to work with, as first-round pick Kirby Dach and defensemen Olli Maatta and Calvin de Haan join the team’s roster in a push for a playoff berth.
Blackhawks that have contributed to Stanley Cup championships in the past will also be present at training camp, as forwards Kris Versteeg and Andrew Shaw join the 55-man roster to begin camp.
