Blackhawks Trade Defensive Prospect Ville Pokka

Pokka registered 127 career points with the Rockford IceHogs

The Chicago Blackhawks have made a minor trade on Thursday, sending defensive prospect Ville Pokka to the Ottawa Senators.

In exchange, the Blackhawks acquired forward Chris DiDomenico, the team announced.

DiDomenico has appeared in 24 games with the Senators this season, scoring six goals and four assists in those contests. According to the Blackhawks, he will report to the team’s AHL affiliate in Rockford.

The forward has already been a member of the Blackhawks’ organization before, as he was acquired in the 2010 trade that sent Kris Versteeg to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Blackhawks also acquired forward Viktor Stalberg in that swap.

Pokka has 28 goals and 99 assists in 266 games with the IceHogs, but was never able to crack the Blackhawks’ lineup at the NHL level.
