Blackhawks to Honor Kendall Coyne, Alex Rigsby at Sunday Game

The Chicago Blackhawks will honor a pair of local Olympic heroes before their game against the Boston Bruins on Sunday.

The Blackhawks will honor Kendall Coyne and Alex Rigsby, who took home gold medals as part of the United States’ women’s hockey team in Pyeongchang.

Coyne, a Palos Heights native and a graduate of Sandburg High School, scored a pair of goals in the tournament for the American squad as they won their first gold medal in women’s hockey in 20 years.

Rigsby, who is from Downers Grove, played her youth hockey with the Chicago Mission and made her Olympic debut this year for the United States squad.

According to the Blackhawks, the two players will be honored during the game and will sign autographs during the first intermission on the United Center concourse.
