Marcus Kruger Activated From Injured Reserve

Kruger was placed on IR earlier this month with a concussion

The Chicago Blackhawks will be getting one of their centers back Saturday night as Marcus Kruger has been activated from the injured reserve list.

Kruger, who had been placed in the NHL’s concussion protocol earlier this month, has four goals and one assist in 33 games, and will hope to bolster the team’s center depth as they look to continue a recent run of strong play.

To make room for Kruger on the active roster, the Blackhawks have sent forward Jacob Nilsson to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. Nilsson didn’t register a point in his two games with the Blackhawks, but has 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 31 games with the IceHogs.

The Blackhawks will return to action on Saturday night when they face the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.
